Why it matters
Crowd safety fails at the weakest link. A venue can have ample floor area but too few exits, or enough staff but no evacuation plan. Seeing every factor together is the only way to catch the gap a single number would hide.
Good practice
- Use realistic worst-case numbers — peak attendance, full bar, the headline moment.
- Fix the red items first; they're the ones most likely to cause a crush.
- Re-run it after any change to layout, capacity or programme.
